Steven Karpel has over 25 years’ experience in financial services and project management. Currently, Steven is the President and CEO of HPO Americas Ltd., a multi-family office with its roots based in Switzerland. In addition, Steven is also currently managing the construction of a 14-unit luxury apartment building in South Beach, Miami Beach, Florida. Prior to HPO Americas Ltd., and for almost 25 years, Steven was President & CEO, COO, CFO and/or Chief Compliance Officer of a number of FINRA member and registered U.S. broker-dealers in the financial securities industry.

He has experience in the management of financial institutions as well as bank and company reorganizations. He has participated in the reorganization and liquidation of dozens of financial institutions during the banking crisis of the late 1980s and early 1990s. In addition to his work with the FDIC, Steven worked at Arthur Andersen in the Financial and Economic Consulting division where he was an analyst on a broad range of industries and companies.

Steven also spent 4 years at one of the largest subprime lending institutions in the United States and has a deep understanding of the lending industry. In addition, Steven was a Director and member of the Investment Committee of a debt focused investment fund.
